Abby Interview

We catch up with Abby to get her thoughts on the book, Violet, and her regrets.

Tell all the ‘Violet and Abby’ fans a little about yourself.

Hi everyone, I’m Abby, the narrator of ‘The End of Violet and Abby.’ I’m a junior at Chester Arthur High School and I like science, quiz team, and the TV show Gatekeepers. Other than that, I don’t know, I guess I’m pretty normal, a little nerdy maybe.

Have you had a chance to read ‘The End of Violet and Abby’ yet?

Yes, I read an early draft. It was, *sigh*, yeah.

Did you not like it?

No, no, it’s wonderful, a great book. Funny, heartbreaking, all that. It’s just hard reliving those times you know. Things were kind of messed up back then.

You mean all that stuff between you and Violet?

Yeah, hence the title I guess. It’s just frustrating when you try so hard to help someone and they…well, we all fall short sometimes.

It’s not all sadness though. You do make some new friends.

Oh yes, my teammates on the Quiz Team. They’re a riot, seriously someone should write a book or a movie all about them.

Speaking of which, who do you think should play you in the movie?

Well, I’ve been told I look a little like Alexis Bledel, so that would be great. Either her or Saoirse Ronan who I also love. Cute but a little brainy, you know.

Do you have any secrets, something about you that no one else knows?

If I’ve learned anything recently it’s that everyone has secrets.

Do you have anything you’d like to tell all the V+A fans out there?

Thanks so much for reading and supporting this story, and please keep in mind I tried my best.
